Method

  1. Heat the oven to 375°F and line two baking sheets with parchment.
  2. Whisk the flour, baking soda and salt.
  3. Beat the butter and both sugars until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Beat in the eggs and vanilla.
  4. Stir in the flour mixture, then the chocolate chips.
  5. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough 2 inches apart on the sheets.
  6. Bake 9 to 12 minutes until the edges are golden and the centers look just set.
  7. Cool on the sheet for 5 minutes before moving to a rack.
